  • Judge Angel Kelley served on the Massachusetts Superior Court from 2013 to 2021 and was the Regional Administrative Judge from 2017 to 2020. From 2009 to 2013, she served on the Brockton District Court.
  • Prior to becoming a judge, she practiced law for sixteen years. Judge Kelley spent four years as a legal services attorney in the Juvenile Rights Division of the Legal Aid Society in Brooklyn and eight years as an assistant chief counsel and trial attorney for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
  • Judge Kelley also worked for two years as a clinical instructor at Harvard Law School and two years as an Assistant United States Attorney in the major crimes unit of the Office for the District of Massachusetts.
  • When confirmed, Judge Kelley became only the second Black woman and second Asian American to ever serve on the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
