  • Judge Jane Beckering was confirmed by the Senate on December 17th, 2021. From 2007 to 2021, she served on the Michigan Court of Appeals, where she was the Chief Judge Pro Tempore of the court. She had seventeen years of experience as a trial lawyer and was the founder of Buchanan & Beckering, a firm focused on representing plaintiffs in civil litigation.
    • Buchanan & Beckering represented plaintiffs in medical negligence, catastrophic personal injury cases, and wrongful death claims.
    • In 2016, Judge Beckering helped protect the gray wolf, of which there were fewer than 650 at the time in Michigan, by ruling to strike down a statute that allowed the species to be hunted. The decision was praised by animal protection groups.
  • Judge Beckering was listed as one of “The Best Lawyers in America” by her peers in 2006, and was named one of the Top 100 Lawyers and Top 50 Women Lawyers by Michigan Super Lawyers.
