Judge Patricia Tolliver Giles was confirmed by the Senate on October 26th, 2021. She was previously a Managing Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia and an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Major Crimes Unit. She spent three years in private practice, focusing on types of commercial law including contracts, intellectual property, and employment law. Judge Giles received her B.A. from the University of Virginia in 1995 and her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1998.
