- On March 23, 2022 Anne Traum was confirmed to the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada
- Previously, Traum was a Professor of Law and Associate Dean for Experiential Legal Education at the William S. Boyd School of Law at UNLV. She serves as Director of the Appellate Clinic and has taught at the school since 2008, where her expertise includes sentencing, habeas corpus, and criminal law and procedure.
- From 2015 to 2016, Traum was a Special Counsel at the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office for Access to Justice, where she provided analysis on matters such as indigent defense, civil legal aid, reentry, and sentencing reform.
- From 2002 to 2008, Traum was an Assistant Public Defender in the Federal Public Defender’s Office in Las Vegas.
- In 2019, the Nevada Supreme Court appointed Traum to the Nevada Board of Indigent Defense Services. She has served as Chair of the Board since 2020.
- Traum received her A.B. from Brown University in 1991 and her J.D. from U.C. Hastings College of Law in 1996. She clerked for Judge Stanwood Duval of the Eastern District of Louisiana.
