Matthew Maddox was confirmed to the is U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland on October 31, 2023. Previously, he was a U.S. magistrate judge, a role he had from 2022. From 2015 to 2022, he worked as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland. Maddox served as a law clerk for Judge Andre Davis on the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals from 2014 to 2015 and for Judge Gerald Bruce Lee on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia from 2011 to 2012. He graduated from Yale Law School in 2011 and from Morgan State University in 1999.
