Georgia N. Alexakis was confirmed to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois on May 1, 2024. Previously, she was an Assistant United States Attorney and the Chief of Appeals for the Criminal Division in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois. Prior to that she served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in that office from 2013 to 2021. Before that, Alexakis was a partner at Riley Safer Holmes & Cancila LLP in Chicago and a partner at Bartlit Beck Herman Palenchar & Scott LLP. She received her J.D. from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law in 2006 and her A.B. from Harvard University in 2000.
