Elizabeth C. Coombe is currently the First Assistant United States Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of New York, a role she has had since 2018. She has served in this Office since 2003 and was the Chief of its Criminal Division from 2014 to 2018. Prior to this, Coombe was an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the District of Columbia from 1998 to 2003. She has also worked as a trial attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Division, Commercial Litigation Branch and a staff attorney in the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Enforcement Division. Coombe received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School in 1992 and her B.A., summa cum laude, from Hamilton College in 1989.
