Judge Cristal C. Brisco has served concurrently on the St. Joseph County Superior Court in South Bend, Indiana since 2021, and the Indiana Commercial Court since 2022. She previously was a magistrate judge for the Circuit Court of St. Joseph County in Mishawaka between 2018 and 2021. From 2017-2018, Judge Brisco served as General Counsel to Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, and from 2013-2017 she was Corporation Counsel for the City of South Bend. She began her career as an associate at Barnes & Thornburg LLP in 2006. Judge Brisco received her J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 2006 and her B.A. from Valparaiso University in 2002. If confirmed, Brisco would be the first Black woman to serve as a judge on this court.
