Judge Jacqueline Becerra was confirmed to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida on February 27, 2024. Previously, she was a United States Magistrate Judge for the Southern District of Florida. Prior to that, she was a Shareholder at the law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A. from 2004 to 2018. Judge Becerra worked in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida, initially as an Assistant U.S. Attorney from 1999 to 2002 then later as a Special Counsel from 2002 to 2004. She joined the U.S. Department of Justice through its Honors Program, serving in the Civil Division Federal Programs Branch between 1994 and 1997 and then in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia from 1997 to 1999. She received her J.D. from Yale Law School in 1994 and her B.A. from the University of Miami in 1991.
