Jerry Edwards Jr. was confirmed to the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana on December 14, 2023. Previously, he was the First Assistant U.S. Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Louisiana in Shreveport from 2022. Previously he was the Chief of the Civil Division from 2020 to 2022 after serving as an Assistant United States Attorney in that office from 2019. Prior to that, Edwards worked at Blanchard, Walker, O’Quin & Roberts. Between 2005 and 2006, he clerked for First Judicial District Court of Louisiana Judges Jeanette G. Garrett and Scott J. Crichton. He received a J.D. from Vermont Law School in 2005 and a B.A. from Georgia State University in 2002.
