Kirk Sherriff was confirmed to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California on January 31, 2024. Previously, he was an Assistant United States Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of California, a role he has had since 2002. In addition to that, starting in 2015, he has been serving as Chief of the District’s Fresno office. Previously, Sherriff was an associate at the law firm White & Case L.L.P. from 1995 to 1996 and then again between 1997 and 2001. He clerked for Chief Justice Deborah T. Poritz on the Supreme Court of New Jersey in 1996. Sherriff received his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1995 and his B.A. from Columbia University in 1990.
