Previously, she served as a judge for the Ayer District Court in Middlesex County, a role she had since 2017. Prior to that, she served as a judge on the Massachusetts Trial Court.

From 2005 to 2009, Guzman was a solo practitioner focused on criminal defense.

Before that, she served as a public defender for the Massachusetts Committee for Public Counsel Services from 1992 to 2005.

Guzman received her J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 1992 and her B.A. from Clark University in 1989.
