Judge Melissa Damian was confirmed to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida on February 29, 2024. Previously, she was a United States Magistrate Judge for the Southern District of Florida. Prior to that, Judge Damian worked as Of Counsel at Damian & Valori from 2013 to 2021, appellate counsel at The Ferraro Law Firm from 2010 to 2013, and an associate at Kenny Nachwalter, P.A. from 1997 to 1999. She also served as an AUSA in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida for over ten years between 1999 and 2010. Judge Damian clerked for Judge Ursula Ungaro on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida from 1995 to 1997. She received her J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law in 1995 and her B.A. from Princeton University in 1990.
