Melissa DuBose was confirmed to the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island on March 12, 2024. From 2019, Judge Melissa DuBose served as a judge on the Rhode Island District Court. She previously served as in-house counsel for Schneider Electric and as a prosecutor. She holds a J.D. from Roger William School of Law and a B.A. from Providence College. Upon confirmation, DuBose became the first person of color and the first openly LGBTQ+ judge on this court.
