  • Nancy Maldonado has been a judge on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois since July 19, 2022.

  • Previously, Maldonado was a partner at Miner, Barnhill & Galland, P.C. in Chicago, a role she has had since 2010. Maldonado has achieved significant victories for workers in employment disputes, including a multi-million dollar class action brought on behalf of migrant farm workers.

  • Maldonado is a member of the Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois, and received its “Mentor of the Year” award in 2007 for counseling law students.

  • Maldonado has served on the board of directors for the Chicago Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law since 2005.

  • Upon confirmation, she became the first Latina woman to serve as a judge for the U.S. Northern District of Illinois.

  • Maldonado received her J.D. from Columbia Law School in 2001, and her A.B., cum laude, from Harvard College in 1997.
