- Nusrat Choudhury has served as the Legal Director of the ACLU of Illinois since 2020.
- Choudhury was an attorney for the ACLU’s Racial Justice Program from 2013 to 2020, including serving as Deputy Director of the program from 2018 to 2020; an attorney with the ACLU’s National Security Project from 2009 to 2013; and a Marvin M. Karpatkin Fellow for its Racial Justice Program from 2008 to 2009.
- If confirmed, Choudhury would be the first Bangladeshi American and first Muslim American woman to ever serve as an Article III federal judge.
- Choudhury received her B.A. from Columbia University in 1998, her J.D. from Yale Law School in 2006, and her M.P.A. from Princeton University in 2006. She clerked for Judge Denise Cote of the Southern District of New York and Judge Barrington Parker of the Second Circuit.
