Roopali Desai currently serves as a partner for Coppersmith Brockelman’s litigation group. She has extensive experience in political law and elections law. In the wake of the 2020 election, she represented Arizona’s Secretary of State and defended the state’s election procedures. Desai clerked for Chief Judge Mary Schroeder on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Desai received her J.D. in 2005, her M.P.H in 2001, and her B.A. in 2000, all from the University of Arizona. If confirmed, she would be the first person of South Asian American descent to serve as a judge for the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
