Seth R. Aframe was confirmed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit on May 20, 2024. Previously, he was an Assistant United States Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Hampshire, a role he had had since 2007. He was the Chief of the Criminal Division in that office from early 2023 and Appellate Chief from 2010. Prior to this, Aframe was an associate at Choate Hall & Stewart L.L.P for three years between 2000 and 2003. Aframe clerked for Judge Jeffrey R. Howard on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit between 2003 to 2007 and for Justice Judith A. Cowin on the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court between 1999 and 2000. He received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1999 and his B.A. from Tufts University in 1996.
