Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett was confirmed to the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California on April 27, 2022. Previously, she served as a judge on the Superior Court of Los Angeles County since 2014. She also previously served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California in the Criminal Division. Judge Garnett received her B.A. from the University of California at Riverside in 1991 and her J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1995, and clerked for Judge Barry T. Moskowitz of the Southern District of California.
